About

A Christmas Carol is one of the nation’s most beloved Christmas stories; in this thrilling new interpretation, you will join Scrooge, Marley & Co. on their journey of self-reflection and discovery of the true meaning of Christmas in the beautiful surroundings of the Yorkshire moors. This experience will delight young and old alike and unlock the magic of the Christmas spirit for everyone – truly, there’s nothing Humbug about this!

You’ll navigate an authentic Victorian street to find us in Scrooge’s office on Christmas Eve, where the miserly mister is counting his pennies. After dismissing the warm-hearted Cratchits and refusing to participate in Christmas cheer, you’ll be at the very centre of the action as the ghostly Marley arrives to warn Scrooge about the errors of his ways.

Scrooge, uncaring, falls asleep and then the true wonder begins, for there is Christmas magic at work! From out of the steam, a familiar sound…a mystic train arrives, ready to take Scrooge – and you – on a spellbinding and transcendent journey through past, present, and future.

Scrooge won’t be the same when he returns, and neither – perhaps – will you.

This production combines the beautiful surroundings and experience of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway with prestige theatre, including some of the nation’s most highly trained performers and an acclaimed and award-winning production team.
